Beverly J (Woolums) Gerard Obituary (1938 - 2017)

Beverly J. Gerard, age 78, of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood following an extended illness. She was born on September 21, 1938 in Harrison County, Kentucky to the late Orville and Ethel Woolums . She attended Connersville School in Connersville, KY. She and her family moved to Elwood in 1957. Beverly married Francis L. Gerard on September 24, 1976. She worked in the food service industry when she was younger as a waitress at a few local restaurants. She enjoyed working at Mangas Cafeteria for several years and at Ray Brothers and Noble Canning for several seasons. She later worked providing child care for children of relatives. Beverly loved gardening and taking care of the flowers in her yard. She also enjoyed line dancing, listening to country music and spending time with her husband and her family. Beverly's surviving family includes her husband of nearly 41 years, Francis L. "Frank" Gerard, sister, Virginia "Ginny" VonOgden, nieces, Sherry Rice, Margie Miller, Ulane Holliday, Angela Murray, Dee Bourff, Glenda Pitts, and Julie Cooper, nephews, Thomas Hite, David Wills, and Chad Woolums, and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Will Woolums, 2 sisters, Irene Wills and Helen Cunningham, and a nephew, Ken Wills. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September20, 2017 at Elwood City Cemetery wtih Matt Baer officiating. A private family visitation will be held.
