Brenda C (Shallenberger) Mcclish

Brenda C. McClish, age 74, a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. She was born in Elwood on September 11, 1947, the daughter of Earl and Margaret (Shepard) Shallenberger. On September 3, 1966, she married Larry Lee McClish and they shared 53 years of marriage together before he passed on May 8, 2019.

Brenda was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed country music. She loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining her family with her delicious meals. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all by all who knew her.

Brenda is survived by her three daughters Tammy (Rodney) McMurray of Swayzee, IN, Jenny (Jeff) Helpling of Elwood, IN and Jody (Doug) Abbott of Elwood; two step-sons, Rick McClish of Frankton, IN and Tim McClish of Windfall, IN; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Larry (Sherry) Shallenberger, Jack (Juanita ) Shallenberger and Steve (Liz ) Shallenberger all of Elwood, IN; three sisters, Anita Johnson, Lisa (Dene) Burton both of Elwood, IN and Kim Curren of Bedford, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Lee McClish; sister, Judy Dauenhauer; and brother, Martin Shallenberger.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am at Sunset Memorial Park in Elwood on Saturday, March 5, 2022 with Paul McCool officiating. Dunnichay Funeral Home is once again honored to care for Brenda and the McClish families.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Compassus Hospice.
