Charles E "Chase" Bond Obituary (1984 - 2021)

Charles Edward "Chase" Bond, age 37, died Sunday, June 13, 2021, following a tragic accident at his favorite place, White River in Perkinsville, IN. Chase was born on March 5, 1984, in Albuquerque, NM, he was the son of Cathy (Bond) Amick and Harry Trjeque. At a young age, Chase developed a love for sports by spending his summers playing baseball in the Elwood Minor League, Little League, Babe Ruth Baseball programs and in the fall, playing football in the Elwood Youth Football program. As a young boy, he perfected both his bowling and pool game at Lucky Strike Lanes. He continued this passion for sports throughout high school as a member of the Elwood Community High School Baseball and Football teams until his graduation in 2002. Chase was a free spirit who followed his heart to Florida where he realized his hands were his "money makers." He was an entrepreneur who honed his skills in welding and later became self-employed in the construction industry specializing in window installation. At the time of his death, he was also employed by Phoenix Financial Services where he excelled as a collection specialist, which was no surprise to those who knew him best. Chase was a hard worker and also a master of relaxation who enjoyed the simple things in life, a good fire and peace on the river. Yet he was a true testament of a soul who LIVED his life hard and loved his family harder. In his spare time, Chase could most often be found on a disc golf course, a pool tournament, rocking out at a live music venue or concert, or on the river. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, kayaking, hiking, camping, camp-fires, shooting his guns and blowing "stuff" up. He was a loyal friend, athlete, mentor, master storyteller, ladies' man, the life of the party, and the guy who would give you the shirt off his back and who never met a stranger. Every encounter with Chase began and ended with his infectious smile. Above all things, he cherished the time spent with his family and closest friends and brothers. The loves of his life were his children, both human and K9. Chase is survived by his mother, Cathy Amick; children, Kylie Rose Goris (mother, Sarah Goris), Charlotte Eileen Bond and bonus son Karson Bo Richards (mother, Meghan Richards) and K9 kid, Sadie; sister, Amy (Bond) Clark; extended siblings, Micah (Kandi) Trice, Jewell (Ryan) Kaylor, Margaret (Michael) Wilkerson, Gwen Brady, Kathy Amick, Karen (Larry) Arnold, Kris (Jim) Smith, Kim (Will) Williams, Kerry Amick, Ed (Ann) Amick, Ernie Jr. (Jennifer) Amick, Erick (Brandon Hill) Amick; special cousin and treasured friend, Kellie Gamble-Mattox; his brothers, Kyle Bedics, Brian Chambers, Aaron Cole, Mike Davis Jr., Steven Hollowell, Cole Peavler, Chris Plake, Matt Schmidt, Josh Secrest, and Travis Smith; special friend, Sarah Hesselman; Aunts, Ellen (Steve) Brady and Peggy (Bill) Titley; uncle, Mike Bond; maternal grandparents, Jack (Janet) Schimmel; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured friends. Chase was preceded in death by his K9 kids, Maximus and Bella; step-father, Ernie Amick; and maternal grandparents, Joan Schimmel, Charles Bond, Cappie Bond; and maternal great-grandparents, Chuck and Liz Jones. A funeral service celebrating Chase's life will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood with his Uncles, Mike Bond and Steve Brady officiating. Cremation will follow the service, and burial will take place, privately, at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
