Darrell L Sylvester Obituary (1952 - 2015)

Darrell L. Sylvester, age 63, of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Community Parkview Care Center surrounded by his loving family.Darrell was born on August 3, 1952, in Anderson toDean and Joan (Brown) Sylvester.On July 6, 1988 he married the love of his life Stephanie (Dowler) Sylvester. Darrell proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Darrell was retired from South Ripley Community Schools where he was a school bus driver. He enjoyed all kinds of sports and was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.Darrell loved spending time with his family and will be sadly missed.Darrell's family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their professionalism, caring, and compassion care for Darrell. Darrell is survived by his loving Wife, of 27 years, Stephanie (Dowler) Sylvester of Anderson, three sons, Darrell Sylvester, Jr. of North Vernon, Nathan Sylvester of Elwood, and Aaron Sylvester of Anderson, two daughters, Amanda Jackson of North Vernon and Brandie Sylvester of Albany, Brother, Gary Sylvester of Anderson, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren & several nieces & nephews. Darrell was preceded in death by his Father, Dean Sylvester, Mother, Joan Sylvester and a brother Gerald Dean "Jerry" Sylvester, Jr. A Celebration of Life Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, August 24, 2015, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with Rev. Joe Collier officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation for family & friends will be Monday,August 24, 2015 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S.
