Demetrio Dimas Jr. Obituary (1990 - 2023)

Demetrio Dimas Jr., age 33, of Elwood, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Demetrio was born in Elwood on July 16, 1990, to Demetrio and Ida (Ramirez) Dimas. Demetrio attended Elwood Community High School and was a part of the graduating class of 2009. Demetrio was employed by Warner Body in Elwood, where he was a part of the paint department. He enjoyed movies, dancing, playing pool, basketball, and hanging out with friends and family. He also loved video games! He could play for hours at a time and would never turn down the opportunity to go shop at GameStop for new games and accessories. Demetrio would also never pass up a meal or trip to Long John Silver's! Demetrio's family was an important part of his life. He was always happy when they would have family gatherings at his brother Eddie's house where they would cook out and partake in good yard games, especially cornhole. Demetrio is survived by his parents, Demetrio (Ida) Dimas, Sr. of Elwood; daughter, Adrianna Dimas of Elwood; brothers, Eddie (fiancee Harley) Dimas, Oscar Lee Dimas, and Tommy A. Dimas all of Elwood; sister, Krystal M. Dimas of Elwood; uncle, Romero (Maria) Gallegos of Elwood; aunt, Mary Dimas of Elwood; several other aunts & uncles; and several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2023, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Friday, October 6, 2023, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Pastor Margaret Salas officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Dunnichay Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
