Dorothy Alma (Sieckmann) Gerth Obituary (1927 - 2013)

Dorothy Alma Gerth, age 85, of Elwood, passed away on February 16, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness. Dorothy was born on December 21, 1927, to Joseph and Jeanette (Fellermann) Sieckmann in St. Louis, MO. She married Emil C. Gerth on September29th, 1951, and he survives.Dorothy retired from Elwood Community Schools as a secretary at Washington & Edgewood Elementary Schools.She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, N.C.C.W., and St. Monica's Study Club.Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge, reading, bowling, and especially spending time with her family. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Emil Gerth of Elwood 6 Children: Son - Mark & wife Kayte Gerth of Carmel Daughter - Nancy Gerth of Monroe Son- Luke & wife Agnes Gerth of Elwood Son- Philip & wife Mary Ann Gerth of Indianapolis Son- Brian Gerth & wife Mimi Hart of Cincinnati Son- Alan Gerth & wife Susan Calvert of Lafayette 8 Grandchildren: Andrew, Nicole, Michael, Matthew, Alexander, David, Jonathan, and Steven Sister - Leila Schoenman of Huntington Beach, CA Several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Jeanette Sieckmann, and sister Jean Sieckmann Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 19th, from 2 PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, Feb. 20th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood with Father Dan Duff officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elwood.
