Dwight A " Butch" Miller Obituary (1943 - 2014)

Dwight A. Miller, age 71, lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness.Dwight was born on January 8, 1943, the son of James and Alice (Jack) Miller. Dwight served his country in the US Air Force from 1961 to 1966.He retired from Shepard Tool after 20 years of service and had been employed at Ex-Cel-Lo Corporation. Dwight was amember of the Elwood VFW and the Frankton American Legion.He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and was an avid bowler. Dwight's surviving family includes his, Son, LonnieMiller of Elwood;Daughter, Lisa & husband Randy Hobbs of Elwood; 2 Step daughters, Patty & husband Eddie Ellis of Noblesville and Sue & husband Mike McPhearson of TX; 4 Grandchildren, Ashley & husband Dusty Jones of Anderson,Daniel Hobbs of Elwood, Micah Miller, and Greg McPhearson of TX,3 Great-Grandchildren, Madison & Elijah McCarty, and Rhyan Jones. 3 Brothers, Jeff & wife Suzanne Miller of MO, James & Paula Miller of CA, and Darrell & wife Alice Miller of FL, 2 Sisters, Doris Adams of CO and Sue & husbandMax Stewart of Elwood; Several Nieces & Nephews. Dwight was preceded in death by his Father, James Miller, Mother, Alice Miller, Daughter, Rowena Fay Miller, Brother Brice Miller, Sister Beverly Pipes, and grandson Joshua Payne. A celebration of life service will be Friday, February 7,2014, at 7:00 PM at the Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Joe Collier officiating. Followed by the Elwood VFW American Honor Guard military service.Burial will be at a later date.Visitation will be two hours prior to service from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
