Edward Shawn Twiford, known affectionately by many as Ed, was born on December 22, 1963, in Kokomo, IN, and passed away on September 8, 2026. He was a 1982 graduate of Elwood Community High School. Ed was a dedicated craftsman, working as a cabinet maker for over 30 years at N & K Cabinet alongside his best friend, Joe Miller. His work was not just a job, but a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence and detail.
Edward had a deep love for sports, with a particular passion for baseball. This love was not only confined to being a spectator but was actively expressed in his years of coaching youth teams in Elwood. He was a beloved figure, mentor, and a friend to all the children he coached over the years. His support for local sports extended to the Indiana Fever basketball team, which he avidly followed. Ed will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Edward is survived by his son, Blaze Twiford, his grandson, Myles Twiford, and his siblings Lisa Twiford, Deborah "Debbie" Copher, Bobbye Twiford, and Dale (wife Cheryl) Twiford, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and William "Bill" Twiford, and his brother-in-law, Tom Copher.
