Elizabeth E "Liz" (Ferguson) Smith Obituary (1942 - 2019)

Elizabeth E. "Liz" Smith, age 77, of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Elwood Health and Living. Liz was born on April 17, 1942, in Taylor County, KY the daughter of Irvin and Gladice (Hughes) Ferguson. She graduated from Highland High School in Anderson in 1961. On October 14, 1967, she married the love of her life Arthur (Leroy) Smith and he passed away on June 10, 2001. Liz was a homemaker and loved caring for her daughter Jolene. Liz is survived by her loving daughter, Jolene Smith of Elwood, special niece, Becky Capps, special great niece and care giver of Jolene, Leigha Viau all of Elwood, brothers, John Ferguson of Frankfort, KY, Charles Gribbins of Pleasureville, KY and Thomas Luztheiser of Fort Wayne, sister, Mary Faye Coleman, sister-in-law, Anita Wheeler of Elwood, and several other nieces & nephews. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin & Gladice Ferguson and her husband of more than 33 years, Arthur Smith. Funeral service celebrating Liz's life will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2019 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Rev. Mark Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 7, 2019, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.
