Frances Johnson

Frances Johnson, age 83, of Elwood, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Frances was born in Cadiz, Kentucky, on January 2, 1941, to the late Thomas and Vera May (Ramsey) Dixon, and was a graduate of Trigg County High School in Kentucky.

As young girl, Frances had the opportunity to travel and live in many locations across the Midwest. Over the years, she worked as a waitress, as well as for Ford Motor Co. She was a voracious reader, and enjoyed listening to gospel music. She will be missed by her loved ones.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Kim Turner of Elwood, and her son, Tim Johnson of Alabama. She is also survived by her sister, Janice King of Arizona; her brother, Paul Dixon of Tennessee; her granddaughters, Kathy (Randy) Wallis and Hope Beatrice; her grandsons, Richard Turner, Keith (Destiny) Strickland, Samson Johnson, and Thomas Turner; many nieces and nephews; and several great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her stepmother, Ophelia Dixon; her son, Keith Johnson; and her brother, Don White.

Services for Frances have been entrusted to Dunnichay Funeral Home of Elwood, Indiana, and a public visitation will be held next Thursday, November 14, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, after which she will be cremated.
