Frances A (Kelly) Robertson Obituary (1930 - 2018)

Frances A. (Kelly) Robertson, age 88, a lifelong resident of Elwood passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 19. 2018 following an extended illness. Frances was born in Elwood on June 15, 1930 to Dewey Kelly and Elizabeth (Ponsonby) Kelly. She worked many years at the Elwood Public Library. She married her high school sweetheart, Maurice A. Robertson on September 29, 1950. Frances was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a past member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority. Frances enjoyed preparing Sunday dinners for her family and spending time at Barbee Lake. She was a kind, caring person with a pleasant smile. Frances is survived by her children, Kathy (Charlie) Ledford of Bowling Green, KY; Mike Robertson of Elwood; and Tracy (Gary) Ice of Elwood; four grandchildren, Kelly (Jordan) Cannon, Kristy (fiance' Jon) Ice, Chase Ledford and Kelcie Ledford; 2 great grandchildren, Lena and Noah Cannon; sisters-in-law Mary Frances Courtney, Louie Kelly, and Evelyn Kelly; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Elizabeth Kelly; her husband of 59 years Maurice Robertson, who died November 8, 2009; 2 brothers, Michael Kelly and Charlie Kelly. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, September 24, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood with Father Dan Duff officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Dunnichay Funeral Home from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, September 23, 2018 and will include a Rosary service at 5:30 pm.
