Gary T. Dever Obituary (1947 - 2024)

Gary T. Dever , age 77, of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at The Waters of Tipton. He was born in Elwood on February 19, 1947, to the late Donald and Florance (Mead) Dever. Gary was a factory worker for many years before retiring from Excello Corp. of Elwood. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, and yard work. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs fan, but enjoyed spending time with family more than anything. Gary is survived by two sons, Robert (Dawn) Dever of Elwood and Leroy (Elizabeth) Dever of Anderson; grandchildren, Travis Dever, Cody Dever, Maria Rea, Jer'Son Gomez, and Jeremy Dever; two sisters, Diana (Larry) Marker and Marsha (Jerry) Moore; a brother, Russell Dever; and several nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Donald Dever; and his mother, Florance Baugher. Visitation is Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, IN. A funeral service celebrating Gary's life is at 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Dunnichay Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Blaylock officiating.
