George E. Thomas, age 77, of Elwood, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.George was born on April 6, 1937, in Indianapolis to the late James and Pauline (Pandell) Thomas.George married Barbara (Klein) Thomas on January 13, 1972, and she passed away on March 7, 2003.George was an avid NASCAR fan, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
George is survived by his daughter, Tammy (David) O'Korn of Indianapolis, one granddaughter Maddie O'Korn, two grandsons, Brayton Thomas & James McCarley, Brother, Philip L. Thomas of Orlando, FL, and good friend Samantha Robinson of Elwood.
George was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Brian Thomas, two twin brothers Doug & Darrell Thomas.

Private Family Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood,with Rich Leavell officiating. Interment will be at the Elwood Cemetery at a later date.
The Dunnichay family is honored to handle the final arrangements for Mr. Thomas.

The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Mercy Hospital Foundation.
