Jack B. Duncan Obituary (1951 - 2023)

Jack Bradley Duncan "Brad", a long time Frankton resident, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on April 19, 2023. Brad was born to Jack and Ruthanne Duncan on November 12, 1951. After graduating from Frankton High School in the class of 1970, Brad immediately went to work for his father as a tool maker at R&E Tool and Engineering in Alexandria, Indiana, and enjoyed a career of 33 years. Brad's unwavering work ethic, attitude toward life, and extraordinary sense of humor were apparent to those who knew him well. Brad was born with Spina Bifida; however, he did not allow his disability to hinder him from a full and joyful life. Brad overcame an enormous amount of challenges and adversity that was thrown his way, but always kept a positive frame of mind when overcoming life's obstacles. Brad was especially proud of his special award at his high school graduation, the perfect attendance award. Brad never missed a day of school, from kindergarten through twelfth grade. At a young age, Brad self-taught himself to play the guitar. He played in a rock band for several years, enjoyed all genres of music, and collected vintage guitars. Brad loved to share memories with family and friends of concerts he was fortunate to attend, such as the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, and Tom Petty, to name a few. Throughout his early adulthood years, Brad enjoyed riding snowmobiles and attending car shows to showcase his Boss 302 Mustang and Ford Falcon. Brad was an avid fan of high school and college wrestling. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling around the state of Indiana and the country to watch his son Courtney compete as a wrestler. He was especially proud of his son when he became Frankton High School's first-ever state champion in 1995. Brad could talk wrestling with anyone. Brad particularly valued a lifelong friendship with Dave and Becky Benefiel. A special trip to Las Vegas and time spent with one another came with lots of laughter and memories Brad cherished. Brad's best friend Dave was adamant to challenge Brad's comfort zone, the loyal friendship they shared with one another was unparalleled. Brad is survived by the love of his life Teresa, his devoted, loyal, and faithful caregiver of which they shared 47 years of marriage; son, Courtney (Melissa) Duncan; granddaughters, Abigail and Claire Duncan; step-daughter, Christine Quear; grandson, Logan Quear; sister, Sheela Denton; brother, Randy Duncan; and his companion Goldendoodle furbaby Lilly. Brad was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Ruthanne Duncan; step-son, Ryan Quear; and best friend, Dave Benefiel. The family would like to thank Paradigm Health for the comfort and care they provided for Brad and his family, most importantly nurse Amber Lopossa. Additionally, the Frankton Ambulance Crew, and Pipe Creek Fire Department. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler Street, Frankton, IN, 46034. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 6:00 pm with David Cloud and Brent Farrell officiating, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler Street, Frankton, IN, 46034. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Frankton Eagle Wrestling Club.
