Janet Maureen (Stout) Barrett Obituary (1934 - 2016)

Janet Maureen Barrett, age 81, of Elwood, went onto her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. She was born on December 16, 1934, in Tipton County, to the late James Cleo and Elva (Woods) Stout. On October 9, 1953 she married the love of her life Otto L Barrett and he passed away on March 8, 2008. Janet was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church in Elwood. Janet was retired from Kleinhenn Company in Anderson where she was a bookkeeper for many years. She loved to do oil paintings, ride her bike, garden and tend to her flowers. More than anything Janet loved the Lord, her church, and her family. She will be remember as a wonderful mother and grandmother. Janet is survived by her three daughters, Pam Conway of Allen, TX, Daughter, Ginger McCardia of Indianapolis, Daughter, Brenda (Terry) Cress of Frankton, IN, Sister, Patty Bradley, Grandchildren, Carly (Micah) Winters, Lindsey (Ed) Brown, Zachary (Jill) Cress, Kelsey Cress, Nathan (Breanna) Cress, Jared (Katherine) Conway, Alyssa Conway, Great-Grandchildren, Keiran, Catlin, Emma Winters, Ben, Elijah, Abigail Brown, Noah, Grant Cress, Kole Goodman, and a close friend Dottie Carlson. Janet was preceded in death by her Father, James Cleo Stout, Mother, Elva Stout, Husband, Otto L Barrett, Sister, Joyce Hogan, and Grandchildren, Lucas Hughes, and Jacob Cress. Funeral service to honor Janet's life will be at 11:00 am Monday, August 29, 2016 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Dr. Woody Noblitt officiating. Burial will follow in the K of P & IOOF Cemetery in Frankton Visitation will be Sunday, August 28, 2016, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church may be made through the funeral home.
