Janet M (Bradford) Rastetter Obituary (1933 - 2021)

Janet M. Rastetter, age 87, of Alexandria passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at her residence following multiple health issues. She was born in Alexandria on November 24, 1933, the daughter of the late James and Alma (Weidmann) Bradford. On May 5, 1962 Janet married Francis J. "Frank" Rastetter and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2017. Janet was retired from Walmart where she was a greeter for many years. She formerly worked with her mother at the Bradford Nursing Home, and formerly ran a ceramic store out of her home. Janet was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Alexandria, Daughters of Isabella, and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. While raising her children, Janet enjoyed helping them with the paper route for the Anderson Bulletin. She enjoyed cross-stitch, quilting, sewing, knitting, ceramics, and crocheting. Janet is survived by her three children, Joe Rastetter of Alexandria, Anne (husband Guy) Wable of Bradenton, FL, and Mary Lyell of Alexandria; four grandsons, Joey and Tom Rastetter, Levi and Nick Wable; two great grandchildren, Lee and Emma; sister, Pat Vogel; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alma Bradford; husband, Frank Rastetter; three brothers, William, Albert, and Robert Bradford; and two sisters, Mary Helen Flecker, and Leona Lohman. A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Dunnichay Funeral Home 1113 S. Anderson Street Elwood, IN 46036. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 820 W. Madison Street Alexandria, IN 46001.
