Kyran Noah Planalp Obituary (2001 - 2023)

Kyran Noah Planalp, age 22, of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023.He was born in Anderson, IN, on September 24, 2001, to Jerrico Planalp and Tiana O'Brien. Kyran spent most of his childhood in Elwood until his family moved to Frankton. He attended Frankton High School and was a member of the graduating class of 2020. He was very active throughout High School. Kyran was a lifelong runner, starting cross-country in second grade, following in his brother's footsteps. He made it to Semi-State in 2019 & 2020, which was so exciting. Kyran also wrestled since he was 5 years old and went on to wrestle with FHS Wrestling winning multiple wrestling championships throughout his career. Kyran was also a star long-distance runner on the Track & Field Team. Coach Andre Lo was a significant part of Kyran's athletic career instilling faith, commitment, and perseverance in Kyran. The family is so grateful to him. Kyran's smile and laughter lit up a room when he entered it and he never knew a stranger. When he wasn't competing in sports, he would wind down by playing video games, listening to music, going camping with his parents, and going fishing. Kyran grew up attending Orestes Christian Church. He most recently worked on a road construction crew for Wright of Indiana. Kyran loved to be around his family and will be missed by many. Kyran is survived by his mother, Tiana O'Brien of Anderson; parents, Jerrico & Loranda Planalp of Frankton; brothers, Keegan (Fiance Shelby Bronner) Planalp of Anderson, Evan Trissel of Kokomo; sister, Mykia Trissel of Frankton; Nephew, Layton Planalp; grandparents, Rinde & Patti O'Brien of Frankton, Gary & Leta Cunningham of Anderson, Trish Ruben of Fishers; great-grandmother, Donna Planalp of Marion, several aunts and uncles; several cousins; and special friend Jaelyn Yeryar. Kyran was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rick Planalp. Visitation for Kyran will be Saturday, December 30, 2023, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler Street, Frankton, Indiana. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home, Frankton, Indiana with Rev. Courtley Granger officiating. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Jerrico & Loranda Planalp through Dunnichay Funeral Home to benefit the future Kyran Planalp Memorial Fund that will serve to support FHS Students.
