Leo Ewing

Elwood, Indiana

Leo Ewing — our Lil LeLe, Nugget, Chorizo, Meatloaf, and forever “Momma’s wittle baby” — filled our lives with fierce loyalty, endless snuggles, and unforgettable personality. Small in size but mighty in spirit, he was his mom’s protector and our family’s greatest little shadow. Leo passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving mom on February 5, 2026, after a brief illness — surrounded by the same warmth and devotion he gave so freely throughout his life, leaving behind paw prints that will never fade. Forever loved. Forever missed.
Leo was born on August 14, 2017, and found his furever home with his devoted parents, Melanie and Marshall, on March 1, 2018. From that day forward, he became the heart, protector, and constant companion of the family he adored.

A spirited Mini Pinscher mix with a mighty personality, Leo was small in size but larger than life in loyalty and love. Fiercely devoted to his mom, he took his role as guardian seriously, always watching closely and making sure everyone knew she was his person. Beneath that brave presence was a sweet, snuggly soul who lived for snacks, bedtime routines, cozy blankets, big stretches, and curling up close to the heads of the people he loved most.

Those who knew Leo will remember his expressive eyes, alert ears, and the way he could fill a room with personality. He brought smiles to everyone he met, and if he didn’t know you yet, you learned quickly to keep your hands up — because Leo believed protecting his family was his most important job. Whether perched on the couch, tucked under blankets, or standing proudly beside his mom, he turned ordinary moments into memories that will last forever.

Leo leaves behind his loving human siblings, Danielle (Mikey) Lorenzano, Devon (Mackenzie) Ewing, and Dylan (Madisyn) Ewing; his fur siblings Rocky and Bootsy; and many family members and friends who adored him — especially those who never arrived without snacks ready. He was more than a pet; he was family, comfort, laughter, and a fierce little protector wrapped into one unforgettable soul.

Though his paws no longer follow behind, Leo’s presence remains in quiet mornings, warm blankets, and every place where love still lingers. His family will forever carry the joy, loyalty, and safety he gave them each day.
