Marcella Elizabeth (Tunnell) Jones Obituary (1947 - 2017)

Marcella Elizabeth Jones, age 69, of Elwood, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Elwood on July 21, 1947, to the late Franklin and Edna (McKinney) Tunnell. She married the love of her life, Edwin Jones and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2003. Marcella previously was employed at several local business in Elwood. She loved her flowers and decorating outdoors. Marcella enjoyed fishing, loved lighthouses and enjoyed her "retail therapy". Marcella was very proud to have been a survivor of Breast Cancer. Marcella is survived 4 sons, Jeffrey "Marty" (Dawn) Young of Fairmount, Robert Young, III of Elwood, Anthony "Tony" (Athena) Young of Kokomo, and James Jones of Elwood, 7 grandchildren, a brother, Charles (Nedra) Tunnell of Elwood, sister-in-law, Linda Boll, several nieces & nephews, including a special niece, Christy Tunnell and 2 special nephews, David Jones and Richard W Boll. Marcella was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Tunnell, mother, Edna Tunnell, husband Edwin Jones, 2 brothers, William "Bill" Tunnell, and, Ralph Tunnell. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Stan Alvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday at Dunninchay Funeral Home prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
