Mattie Lee (Lawson) Capps Obituary (1928 - 2011)

Mattie Lee Capps, 83, of Windfall, passed away onSeptember 26, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesvillefollowing an extended illness. Mattie was born on May 28, 1928 to Otis and May (Rutherford) Lawson inKY.She married George Capps on June 17, 1944 and he preceded her in death. She lived through many illness including breast cancer. Mattie loved to play Bingo and to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mattie is survived by her son Tommy (Vickie) Capps of Eaton, Daughters Judy Bennett of Windfall and Wilma (Dennis) Thomason of Orestes. Grandchildren Ginger, Russell, Christie, Mamie Sue (Waylon), Tammy, Doug (Robin), Pam, Amy (Mike), Ben (Jodie), Thomas, Anna, Jeffery (Kathy), Joshua, and Jeremy (Christie) Twenty four Great Grandchildren and Two Great Great Grandchildren Siblings Ruthie, Gladys, Brenda, Martha, Leon, George, Sister-in-law Anna Best Friends Bob & Cathy Taylor and Sally Haynes She was preceded in death by Father, Otis V. Lawson, Mother, May Lawson, Husband, George S. Capps. Sons Jimmy Capps Sr. and Lloyd Capps, Brother Buddy Lawson and Sister Novella Disney Grandchild Jimmy Capps Jr. and Great Grandchild Megan Capps. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 PM on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home with Rev.
