Mecenzie Bickel Obituary (2008 - 2016)

Mecenzie Joann Bickel, age 8, of Elwood, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, KY, from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Nov. 12th. Mecenzie was born on January 29, 2008, in Noblesville, IN the daughter of Robert and April (Summitt) Bickel. Mecenzie was a third grade student at Frankton Elementary School. She loved school and especially enjoyed reading. Mecenzie wanted to be a school teacher when she grew up. She enjoyed all of her friends, school teachers, and was very active in her church choir. Mecenzie especially loved to be little "Miss Mother Hen" to her siblings. Mecenzie is survived by her loving parents, Bobby (April) Bickel of Elwood, two sisters, Allison & Jessa , brother, Jonathan, Paternal Grandfather, Robert Bickel of Elwood, Maternal Grandparents, Duane (Cindy) Summitt of Frankton, Aunts & Uncles, Robin (Dan) Winn, Brenda (Tim) Kelich both of Elwood, Josh (Michelle) Summitt of Bloomington, Kim Summitt & fiance Eric Keesling of Muncie, Matthew Summitt & fiance Billie Young of Frankton and several cousins. Mecenzie especially enjoyed her friends and teachers. Mecenzie was preceded in death by her Paternal grandmother Pat Bickel. Funeral service celebrating Mecenzie's life will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood with her father Pastor Bobby Bickel and grandfather Rev. Duane Summitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery. Visitation for family, friends and classmates will be Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at the Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 South Anderson Street, Elwood, In. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bickel Family Education Fund through the funeral home, or mailed to P.O. Box 50, Elwood, In 46036.
