Norma Eileen (Barmes) Abbott Obituary (1929 - 2017)

Norma Eileen Abbott, age 88, of Aurora, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Aurora Manor. She was born on July 20, 1929 in Elwood to the late Virgil and Thelma (Daugherty) Barmes. Norma lived all of her life in the Elwood and Frankton area until recently. Norma was a graduate of Elwood High School and retired from Excell-o Corporation in Elwood. She was a member of the Zion Chapel Church in Elwood. She was formerly active in various church activities. Norma loved to play Bingo and loved her dog, "Cookie". Norma is survived by 2 sons, Gary (wife Janice) Scheffer of Twinsburg, OH and Randy Scheffer of Peru,brother Danny (wife Bonnie) Barmes, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Thelma Barmes, husband Jack Abbott, daughter Tanya Brush, brother Leroy Barmes , and sister Evelyn Smith . Norma's funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Dunnichay Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood.
