Paul W. Lane, Sr. Obituary (1941 - 2024)

Paul W. Lane Sr., age 83, of Elwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 29, 1941, the son of the late Arthur and Maethol (Reed) Lane. Paul married Jacklyn S. "Jackie" Ritter on January 19th, 1961 and they shared 63 years of marriage together. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired from Delco Remy after 31 years of service, and was a minister for several small churches in the local area. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, spending time with his Grandkids, and playing a round of golf. He was the Pastor of the Christian Pilgrim Church and a member of the Wesleyan Tabernacle. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who would be greatly missed by all who knew him. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Lane of Elwood; daughter, Lisa Dawn (husband Gary) VanMatre of Frankton; son, Rocky (Kimberly Keller) Lane of Elwood; daughter, Teresa S. Lane-Gross of Elwood; sister, Janice (husband Marshal) Cole-Shively of Elwood; brother, Daniel M (wife Ann) Lane of Holiday, FL; sister, Rebecca Lane-Hartley of Elwood; as well as several Grandkids and Great Grandkids. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by three brothers, William A. Lane, Donald J. Lane, and Arthur "A.J." Lane Jr.; and a sister Barbara A. Lane-Goff. Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 South Anderson Street Elwood, IN 46036. A service to honor and celebrate Paul's life will begin at 1 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home with Dennis Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery where a military service will be performed. Memorial contributions may be made to Paradigm Hospice through the funeral home.
