Perry E. "Skip" Elkins Obituary (1947 - 2024)

Perry E. "Skip" Elkins, age 77, of Elwood, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Seymour, IN, on February 26, 1947, to Perry and Phyllis (Ballard) Elkins. Skip graduated from Elwood High School with the Class of 1965. After graduation, he joined the US Army to proudly serve his country. After his honorable service, he went on to work in production at Chrysler Corporation, where he retired in 2003. Skip was a dedicated member of the Alexandria Eagles and the Elwood V.F.W. He will always be remembered as a motorcycle enthusiast, traveling across the country with fellow riders to enjoy bike events and car shows. More than anything, Skip enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, sharing stories and making memories that so many will forever cherish as they carry on his legacy. Skip is survived by his son, Adam Robert Elkins of Glendale, AZ; sister, Randy (David) Cooper; and brother, Kirby Elkins. He was preceded in death by his parents Perry and Phyllis Elkins, Sr., and a brother, Robbie Elkins. A Celebration of Life service is planned at 4:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Elwood V.F.W. Post 5782, 318 South 18th Street, Elwood, IN 46036. The Dunnichay family and staff is honored to care for Skip and the Elkins family.
