Phyllis S (Burgan) Dever Obituary (1937 - 2019)

Phyllis S. Dever, age 82, of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on October 18, 1937, in Virginia to the late Washington and Alpha (Phipps) Burgan. On April 10, 1969, she married Clarence Dever, Jr. and he passed away on August 11, 1996. Phyllis was formerly employed by Switzer Corp. of Elwood and she later retired from the Elwood Water Department after several years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed. Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Rick Plue and Randy Plue both of Elwood, daughter, Robin (Eric) Horn, grandchildren, Nathan Plue, Hannah Plue, Erica Bell and Shelby (Alex) Finley, two great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Washington & Alpha Burgan, husband, Clarence Dever, Jr., son, Ronnie Plue, two brothers and 4 sisters. By Phyllis's request there will be private family services. Arrangements have been entrusted by Dunnichay Funeral Home of Elwood. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Elwood Fire Department.
