Robert F. Gilley, Jr. Obituary (1966 - 2024)

Robert "Bobby" F. Gilley, age 57, of Elwood, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024. He was born in Anderson on December 10, 1966, to the late Robert and Beverly (Leisure) Gilley, Sr. Bobby attended Anderson High School and was a part of the graduating class of 1985. After graduation, he worked for several manufacturing companies. He was a member of the Alexandria Eagles and enjoyed the fellowship he gained from the organization. Bobby was the life of the party and had a contagious laugh. He never squandered the opportunity to play a prank or tell a joke to entertain those around him. He liked playing BINGO and pull-tabs, traveling, camping, going fishing, and playing cards with his family. Bobby also enjoyed music and dancing. His biggest joy was being with his family. Bobby will be missed by many. Robert is survived by his son, Robert "Chip" (Jessica) Gilley of Ingalls, IN; daughter, Melissa (Chad) Blahnik of Kewaunee, WI; son, Kyle (Sarah) Compton of Anderson, IN; brothers, Tim (Natalie) Silvey of Martinez, GA; sister, Robin (David ) Beach of Kalamazoo, MI; and brothers, Brian (Jana) Silvey of Anderson, IN, and Rodney Silvey of Grovetown, GA; grandchildren; Haley Reed, Jazzlynn Compton, Stefan Blahnik, Lilly Gilley, Darla Compton, Paisley Gilley, Conner Walden; several nieces & nephews & step-grandchildren; he was also survived by his caretaker & best friend, Valerie Gilley. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Beverly Gilley. The funeral service will be at 5:00 pm Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Tim Silvey officiating.
