Robin R Runyan

Robin R. Runyan, age 56, of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospice following a brief unexpected illness.
He was born in Elwood on September 7, 1960, to the late Charles Runyan Jr. and Wilma (Emery) Runyan.
Robin attended Elwood Community High School. On October 22, 1983 he married the love of his life Sherry (Payne) Runyan and they shared 33 years of marriage. He was a die engraver for many years and was most recently employed by Northwest Territorial Mint as a die engraver. Robin was a former member of the Madison County R/C Flyers club. He was an avid golfer, and was formerly the vice president of the men's club at Cattails Golf Course. Robin was a softball coach for many years at the Elwood Girls Softball League and for the Elwood High School Girls Softball team. He will be remembered not only as a coach but also a second dad to many of the girls he coached through the years. Robin loved to play poker, play cornhole, go fishing, spend time with his family, but most of all he loved being a Papaw.
Robin is survived by his loving Wife, of 33 years, Sherry (Payne) Runyan Daughters, Jamie (Cody) Summers, Maddison (Trevor) Holliday, Granddaughter, Sophia Holliday, Siblings, Rick (Ruth) Davis, Della (Ron) Wampner, Debbie Davis, Gary Runyan, Cindy (Bret) Wightman, , Roger (Cathy) Runyan, Alan Runyan, Neena Runyan, Chris Runyan, and several niece, nephews, and close friends. Robin was preceded in death by his Father, Charles Runyan, Jr., Mother, Wilma Runyan, Grandmother, Evelyn(Williams) Runyan, Grandmother, Yula Brown, Grandfather, Charles Runyan Sr. Father-In-Law, Walter K. Payne, Mother-In-Law, Bertie M. Payne.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Rev. Roger Gardner officiating. Visitation will be Monday, December 19, 2016, 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana. The family has requested in honor of Robin to please wear your favorite golf attire to the services.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Elwood Junior Senior High School Girls Softball Team through the funeral home.
