Elwood, Indiana
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ronald "Ronnie" F. Lawson, age 83, who left us on January 20, 2026. Born on the 4th of July, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana, Ronnie was the embodiment of a firecracker spirit — adventurous, compassionate, loving, and brimming with an infectious wit that endeared him to all who crossed his path. His legacy of joy, laughter, and love remains as a testament to a life well-lived, and he will be sorely missed.
Ronnie was a man who lived life his way. His adventurous spirit was vividly reflected in his passion for traveling on his Harley Davidson out west and all over. His love for the open road was only matched by the love for his family, which was his greatest joy and priority. Despite his love for adventure, Ronnie was a dedicated factory worker, serving the automotive industry at Delco Remy for 30 years before retiring in 1993. His work ethic and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and a proud membership in the UAW #662. But at heart, Ronnie was more than his occupation. He was an everyman who never met a stranger and made friends all over the country — a testament to his compassionate and loving nature.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Lawson, his daughters, Deanie Lawson of Elwood and Kim (husband Bryan) Humphrey of Frankton, step-daughter, Kimberly Mitroff and step-son, James (Diane) Mitroff both of CA, and sister, Diana Dunham of Elwood; 4 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ronna Lawson, his parents, Frederick Lawson and Loretta (Loser) Lawson Sizelove, step-father Jack Sizelove, grandsons, Brandon and Jason Sheets, and his brothers, Rick Sizelove and Jon Lawson and step-brother Doug Sizelove
Ronnie's wishes were to be cremated with no services. Arrangements have been entrusted by Dunnichay Funeral Home of Elwood.
