Rose Eldridge

Rose L. Eldridge, age 91, of Elwood, Indiana, entered Heaven's gates on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at her residence in Morgantown, Kentucky. Rose was born in Elwood on July 3, 1932, to the late Rayfield and Opal (Roller) Hughes. On August 6, 1949, she married Burley Eldridge, and they shared 53 years of marriage together.

Rose spent her life as a loving homemaker, and was a faithful member of Joy Christian Church in Elwood. She cared deeply for her church and fellow members, and always enjoyed the opportunity to minister to others. Rose was a true prayer warrior for everyone she knew.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Patricia Earhart; grandsons Jonnie (Kim) Harpel, Burley (Marcie) Harpel, Tim (Wendy) Harpel, and Kenny (Teresa ) Eldridge; granddaughters Barbara (Jessie) Crawford and Christel (William) Motley; great-grandson Kenneth (MaKenna) Eldridge; sisters Alberta Buttler, Charlotte Ritter, and Carol Moore; brother Lawrence (Patricia) Hughes; many nieces and nephews; and several great & great-great grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents and husband; daughter Barbara Huffman; grandson Jamie L. Harpel; brothers Billie and Jerry Hughes; and sisters Mary Feack, Lynn Rust, and Kay Harpel.

Family and friends welcome you to join them in remembering Rose on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 South Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana, 46036. Visiting hours will be held from 11am to 1pm; a funeral service will begin at 1pm, with Jim Stout officiating.
