Rosella O. Toby Obituary (1930 - 2024)

Rosella O. Toby, age 94, went to her heavenly home late in the evening of July 2nd andis now dancing with the angels and family who have gone before her. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Viola and Reverend Charlie Smith, her husband ConnieToby, daughter Vicki Hatt, and five brothers. Close family remaining to cherish hermemory include her daughter Vivian W. Mott and granddaughter, Courtney M. Buckner;stepson Jamie Toby and son Stephen; stepdaughter Roberta Grey (Rick) and children;Linda Senft (Jeff) and son; sisters Arlene Kelly (Cliff) and daughters and Shirley Watsonand sons; and brother Mike Smith (Jackie) and son. Rose also treasured the numerousgrandchildren, step grandchildren, and great grandchildren and step greatgrandchildren. Rose was born February 15, 1930, at home in Claiborne County, Tennessee to the lateViola and Charlie Smith. As the eldest daughter in her farm family, her early life taughther valuable life-long lessons of hard work, love, generosity, and doing for others. Afterhigh school and a move to central Indiana, Rose worked in manufacturing andadministration in several industries in and around Kokomo and then Alexandria. Rosealso loved to cook and was an avid gardener, seamstress, quilter, and craftsperson. Shemade friends quickly and loved her neighbors. Rose also loved animals and birds andshared her home with several precious dogs and cats. A graveside service and burial will be officiated by Rose's brother-in-law, Reverend CliffKelly, at 11:00am, Saturday, July 6th in Vinson Cemetery on North County Road 100East, Summitville, IN. Family and friends are warmly encouraged to join the family at thehome, 566 E. 1550 North to share memories, life stories, and a celebration of Rose'slong and happy life.
