Sandra C. "Sandy" Starr Obituary (1938 - 2024)

Sandra C. "Sandy" Starr , age 85, of Frankton, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 following recent health issues. She was born in Anderson on November 14, 1938, to the late Davie Kyle and Maxine (Myers) Couch. Sandy was an active life-time member of the American Legion Post 469 in Frankton. She served in many auxiliary offices including, President, Chaplain, and Sergeant at Arms. She was elected the Sweetheart Queen of the post in 1985. Sandy enjoyed shopping, and was an avid collector of cows (the house is full of them). She retired from Delco Remy after many years of service. She also retired from Ricker's in Frankton after 18 years of employment. Sandy is survived by her son, Richard Alan "Rick" Starr; daughter, Robin Starr Howard; two grandchildren, Jeff Howard and Lindsey Howard; six great-grandchildren; sister, Kyleene Vaughn; and very special friends, Ben and Claudia Teague. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randall D. Starr; siblings, Karen Morrow and Gail Moore; former husband, Charles "Nick" Starr; and special friend, Larry Kelly. Family and friends are invited to call from 6:oo pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 East Sigler Street Frankton, IN 46044. A service to honor and celebrate Sandy's life will begin at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at K of P I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton.
