Stella "Tatty" Mae (Harris) Frye Obituary (1922 - 2017)

Stella "Tatty" Mae Frye, age 94, of Elwood, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Summit Convalescent Center following a brief illness. She was born in Sheridan on July 5, 1922, to the late Grover and Nora (Gamble) Harris. On March 21, 1941 she married the love of her life Robert "Red" Frye and he passed away on November 13, 2002. Tatty enjoyed walking and formerly enjoyed camping with Red. She was very devoted to her family, and will sadly missed, but joyfully remembered by all who knew her. Tatty is survived by her two sons, Art and wife Carol Frye of Elwood, John "Bud" Frye of Orestes, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, daughter in law, Judy Frye of Elwood, Sister, Mary Pratt of Elwood, and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Red Frye, two sons, Larry and Paige Frye, daughter-in-law, Barbara Frye, great granddaughter Kaylee Frye Kelley, three sisters, and seven brothers. A funeral service to celebrate Tatty's life will be at 1:00 pm Monday, March 13, 2017 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with Rev. Tim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery Visitation will be Monday, March 13, 2017, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.
