Steven O. Atwood, age 62, of Elwood, passed away at his home peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 17, 2015, after a brief illness.Steve was born on February 15, 1953, in Elwood to Eugene and Jeannie (Whitaker) Atwood.On September 18, 1977, Steve married the love of his life Sue (Collier) Atwood.Steve was retired from State Plating after 32 years of service.Steve loved spending time with his friends and family.Steve is survived by his loving Wife, of 38 years, Sue (Collier) Atwood of Elwood,Justin (fiance Chasica Orick) Atwood, Daughter, Katina (Richard) Burdsall, grandchildren, Logan Harless, ReillyBurdsall, Alex Orick, great grandchildren, Sophia Rose Powell and unborn Stevie Jane Powell, Brothers, Ted Atwood,Marty Hardesty, and David Atwood, Sister, Ellen (Duane) Young, andKim Atwood, Several nieces & nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his Father, Eugene Atwood, Mother, Jeannie Atwood, Sister, Donna Jeske, sister in law, Debbie Atwood, and a brother in law, Rick Hardesty.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with his brother in law Jack Collier officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
