Steven McAdams

Steven Allen McAdams, 79, of Frankton, Indiana, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones on October 2, 2026. Steve was born on June 24, 1947 in Muncie, Indiana, to Gourmand and Marjorie McAdams. He married the love of his life, Barbara Strong McAdams in 1966 and together they enjoyed 60 years of a beautiful marriage. In the years of 1966 to 1968, Steve was a proud United States Marine serving in both Vietnam and Cuba. In 1967, Steve and Barb welcomed their first daughter, Tera, and in 1969, their son Rick. In 2001, after 30 years, Steve retired from General Motors. Throughout his life, Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, working on projects in his garage, watching his children and grandchildren’s sporting events, along with the Indianapolis Fever and Colts, and playing Euchre. His greatest devotion was to God, Family, and Country. Steve was a proud patriotic man and a proud member of the National Rifle Association.

Steve McAdams was preceded in death by his parents Gourmand and Marjorie McAdams. He is survived by his siblings, brother Jerry (Peggy) McAdams, sister Toni McAdams, brother Mark (Penny) McAdams, and brother Darrell McAdams, daughter Tera (Tracy) Barker, son Rick (Jana) McAdams, and grandchildren Holly (John) Lucas, Courtney (Steve) Roudebush, Jordyn (Roger) Smith, Dylan (Kelli) Bott, Tyler Barker, Drew Barker, Braxten (Brecken) McAdams, Rylee (Peyton) Brown, Brinley McAdams, and Braelyn McAdams. As well as seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and everyone else who knew and called him “Pappy”.

Steve’s visitation will be held at Harper-Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 4-8pm, His funeral service will be held Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11am at Harper Dunnichay Funeral Home with military rights and burial service at Marion National Cemetery at 1pm.
