Terrie Adawn Gregg, 61, Elwood- passed away unexpectedly Nov. 7, 2016 at her home.
Terrie was the eldest child born to Carrol E. Smith and Twila E. Stevens Smith on January 27, 1955 in Anderson, Indiana
She graduated in 1973 from Alexandria Monroe High School. She married Karl Gregg at the Orestes Baptist Church on Nov. 29, 1974. She worked several years in the OB/Nursery department at St. Vincent Mercy hospital until that department closed. There, Terrie developed a close bond with her fellow OB gals. These ladies held a very special place in Terrie's heart. Terrie went on to work for the Elwood Community School Corporation before she retired.
During retirement, Terrie enjoyed crafting with family, reading, loving on her furbabies, cooking/baking for her loved ones, and watching her "shows". Recently, she found coloring enjoyable.
She was a member of the Orestes Christian Church, former member of the Orestes Pythian Sisters, and Mama Gregg to the EHS Band classes of '95- '01.
Terrie was preceded in death by her mother, Twila Smith, father-in-law, Eugene Gregg; mother-in- laws, Mammie Gregg and June Walters; and her cherished furbabies, Jackie Joe, Miss Jillian, Joby Dell, Jasper, Jada Tada, Jetto Farto, and JoJoBear. She loved her Elkhounds furbabies and remained breed loyal.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Karl; a daughter, Dr. Josetta Gregg (fiance'-Carter Herndon); father, Carrol Smith; 3 sisters: Diala (David) Roe, Rhonda Foor (Gary Ramsey), Traci (Steve) Harvey; 1 brother, Michael Smith; 1 brother-in-law, Allen Nichols, several nieces and nephews; her canine companions, Joy Twilight and Jazzie Sue; and her granddogs, Rebbie Rags and Jenny Lynn. Terrie had a large extended family, and many of her cousins were also her best friends. Family meant everything to her. One thing to be said is that you always knew where you stood in Terrie's life! She was the "keeper" of her family and was always there to offer support to all. Her beautiful smile, warm laugh, and caring heart will be missed by many.
