Thomas Bryan

–

Elwood, Indiana

Thomas Edgar Bryan, aged 75, of Elwood, Indiana, passed away on August 17, 2025. Born on October 15, 1949, in Elwood. Tom was a funny, creative, and supportive individual who brought joy and laughter to all those who knew him.

On December 15, 1974, Tom married Darlene (Sanders) Bryan and was passed away just 8 days prior to him. Tom was a proud veteran, serving in the Navy from February 1968 to December 1971 and in the Naval Reserve from December 1971 to February 1974, during the Vietnam War. His work ethic extended beyond his military service; Tom was a dedicated maintenance worker in the food production industry before his retirement from Red Gold. His creativity shone in his woodworking shop, where he crafted beautiful pieces for several years in Elwood. Tom was also known for his love of oldies music, his fondness for fishing, and the joy he derived from spending time with his grandchildren. Above all, family was the most important thing to Tom.

Tom is survived by his children, Melanie (Jim Miller) Hobbs and David Bryan; his grandchildren, BreAnna Bryan, Kaleb Hobbs, Aaron Bryan, Chelsy Hobbs, Lacy Bryan, Jackson Bryan, and Joshua Bryan; his great-granddaughter, Raelynn Bryan; his sisters, Cheryl Ratliff, Terri Rodriguez, and LouAnn Chase; his brother, Tony Bryan; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Cunningham; his sister-in-law, Ann Sanders; and his caregiver, Tiffany Foor. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Darlene Bryan; his daughter, Deleda "Dee" Harris; and his parents, George and Mary Bryan.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 600 North Anderson Street Elwood, IN 46036. We encourage all who knew and loved Thomas to leave memories and upload photos to his memorial page, as a tribute to his remarkable journey.
