Thomas E. "Tom" Harris, age 67, of Elwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. Tom was born on August 30, 1948, in Elwood to the late Grover and Betty (Brewer) Harris. Tom was a retired Auto Mechanic from Elwood Tire & Auto Service after 28 years of service. Tom never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Tom lived for his family and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Thomas is survived by his Daughter, Michelle (Alan) Meyer of Moscow, MO, Daughter, Telisha (Brandon) Glassburn of Elwood, Son, Mike (Lori) Harris of Elwood, Son, James Harris of Elwood, Son, Brandon Harris of Elwood, Granddaughter, Sarah Kay (Rob) Frazee, Grandson, Michael Thomas (Amber) Harris, Granddaughter, Erika Michele (Wesley) Harris, Granddaughter, Chelsea Rene'e (Ryan) Harvill, Granddaughter, Gabrielle Jo (Kurt) Meyer, Granddaughter, Haley Mae Meyer, Granddaughter, Elizabeth Harris, Grandson, Easton Glassburn, Great grandchildren, Braden Harris, Avery Harris, Sophia Frazee, and Gracen Harris, Step-children, Melissa Piper, Charles Anderson, and Amber Bryan, Step-grandchildren, Jerrard Wilkerson, Shawnacey Carmine, and Landon Diehl, Step-Great grandchildren, Brooklyn (Derek) Idlewine, Caleb Frazee, Nathan Frazee, and Alex Frazee, Brother, Butch Harris of Anderson, Sister, Geraldine Etchison of Frankton, Sister, Georgia (Jerry) Bassett of Alexandria, Sister, Roberta (Rex) Durbin of Anderson, several nieces & nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his Father, Grover E. Harris, Mother, Betty Harris, Grandson, Ethan Glassburn, Grandson, Evan Glassburn, Brother-in-law Ronnie Etchison, step great grandchild, Railee Davis.
Funeral service celebrating Tom's life will be at 7:00 pm Monday, April 18, 2016 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Rev. Joe Collier and Rich Leavell officiating. Burial will take place privately at Parkview Cemetery in Alexandria at a later date. Visitation will be Monday, April 18, 2016, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.
