Thomas M Hillan

Thomas M. Hillan, age 73, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at his residence. Tom was born on January 22, 1942, in Tipton, IN to the late Emmett and Louise "Toots" (Fakes) Hillan. Tom was a 1960 graduate of Elwood High School. Tom retired on November 1, 1998, as the Materials Director for General Motors after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Elwood Elks Lodge. Tom enjoyed sports, he was an avid IU basketball, Indianapolis Colts, and a Frankton Eagles fan. He enjoyed playing golf and walking. Tom will be missed by his loving family. Survived by former wife and mother of his children, Winifred (Shaw) Hillan of Pendleton, two daughters, Tarah (Phillip) Williams of Kokomo and Anne (Rick) Dellinger of Frankton, one son, Michael (Denise) Hillan of Apex, NC, ten grandchildren, Matthew (Taina) DeShon, Brandon (Brittany) DeShon, Bryan DeShon, Alexa, Abigail, & Alivia Hillan, Colton & Brady Waymire, and Garrett & Drew Dellinger, five great grandchildren, Skyhler, Quinton, & Addison DeShon and Hayden & Lincoln DeShon, Sister, Becky (Gary) Garrison of Atlanta, special friend, Peggy Ratz of Anderson, several nieces & nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life funeral service will be at 10 am Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, with Pastor Jay Jennings officiating. Entombment will follow at a later date at the Elwood Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2015, from 4 pm - 8 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana. Tom would request no ties be worn at the visitation or service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Frankton High School Athletic Department through the funeral home.
