W Ruth Shannon Obituary (1927 - 2021) - Pinellas Park, Florida

W. "Ruth" Shannon, age 93, of Pinellas Park, FL and formerly of Elwood, IN passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL following an brief illness. Ruth was born in Indianapolis on December 1, 1927, to the late Harrison and Esta (Stewart) Hayward. Ruth retired from nursing after several years of service and she formerly worked at Parkview Nursing Home in Elwood. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, but more than anything she loved visiting with family and friends . Ruth is survived by a daughter, Genell Guy; son, Donald Hubbartt both of Pinellas Park, FL; three step children, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Harrison Hayward; mother, Esta Hayward; three sons, Jerry, Ronald and Bruce Hubbartt; daughter, Wanda Hubbartt; 12 siblings, and a great-grandson. Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2021, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Friday, September 17, 2021 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood chapel with her beloved nephew Rev. Damon Hayward officiating. Burial will follow in Kempton Cemetery.
