Wanda J (Hill) Slater Obituary (1922 - 2015)

Wanda J. Slater, age 92, of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2015, at Community Parkview Care Center following an extended illness. Wanda was born on December 18, 1922; she was the daughter of Alonzo and Cleo (Davis) Hill. She married George Thomas Slater on March 28, 1945, and he passed away on November 16, 1992. Wanda was retired from Delco Remy and a member of the UAW #662.She also was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elwood. Wanda is survived by her son, Stephen Slater of Elwood, granddaughter, Dawn & husband Barry Delk of Indianapolis, grandson, Brent & wife Simonetta Slater of Seattle, WA, granddaughter, Elisabeth Slater of Anderson, great grandchildren, Melanie Murdick, Levi Delk, Ian Dapcich, Jenna Dapcich, and Lee Slater one great great grandchild, Mason Murdick, and her brother, Bob Hill of Fairmount. Wanda was preceded in death by her Father, Alonzo Hill, Mother, Cleo Hill, husband George Thomas Slater, and sister Ruby May. Private visitation for family.Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday afternoon at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood with Pastor Joe Collier officiating.
